One can work as a paramedic after completing a nationally accredited Paramedic program that meets all state requirements and provides the necessary knowledge, training, and experience. CHOOSE A COURSE
Post high school training choose your course. E.g.
OTT – Operation Theatre Technician
EMT – Emergency Medical Technician
MLT – Medical Laboratory Technician
CHECK THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
For Undergraduate Certification Programs e.g. Bachelors in Operating Theatre Technician (BOTT) or Diploma in Operating Theatre Technician (DOTT) – one should have cleared 10+2 from a recognized University/Board with at least 50% marks.
For Postgraduate Certification Programs e.g. Masters in Hospital Administration (MHA) – one should have a valid recognized bachelor’s degree.
GET ADMISSION
Some institutes carry out admissions through a state level entrance exam, while some institutions conduct a National level entrance exam. Some of the institutes may offer admissions directly by conducting their own entrance exams.
INTERNSHIP/DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP
These are usually for six months to one year and prepare you for future job challenges. These help you gain experience by participating in patient care under the direct supervision of a designated preceptor or instructor in prehospital or hospital settings.
